Unit 2 Installation of Knoppix (post has moved from L85 blog)
This version of Linux is Knoppix 6.7
1. Insert disk to optical drive when PC is loading up.
2. Press F1 to access bios screen and to start checking devices installed, use arrow keys to move to boot menu.
3. Select the boot device priority and select disk drive. Once selected to disk drive press escape to back to menu.
4. Use the left arrow to move to the exit button. Press enter.
5. Save changes when prompted.
6. The computer will now start processing Linux disk.
7. A list of commands will appear, use the arrow keys to select the setup command (13)
8. Once selected another list of commands will appear, move down to last command and select the command
9. Knoppix will start to downloading to the hard drive
10. Select yes to any pop-up boxes
11. Once you have pressed yes to pop-up boxes, the download will start with a progress bar
12. Once downloading is completed, you will be prompt you to install GRUB bootloader. Select yes to install GRUB
13. Another prompt will appear, select yes
14. Once complete system will make a message saying knoppix download is complete
15. A prompt will appear asking you to reboot the computer. Select yes and computer will reboot
16. Once computer has reboot the computer will ask to remove CD before continuing to run Knoppix. You must remove the CD before continuing otherwise the downloading process will repeat itself.
17. Once CD is removed and you have press enter button a list of commands will appear
18. Select setup (13) on the menu
19. A second menu will appear, select graphical progress to continue
20. A third menu will appear after graphical progress, using the arrow keys select the third option start lxde.
21. This will start up the fall session mode
